University students in Hungary attended class topless as a sign of protest against a new dress code ordered by Kaposvar University's college head.

The rector of the Hungarian university sent out letters to students containing the details of a new dress code for students. University students were ordered to wear more conservative clothing in class. Male students were expected to wear dark suits and shoes while the ladies were required to wear long skirts, jackets, blouse and trousers.

Beginning Oct. 1, Kaposvar University students are not allowed to attend class wearing mini-skirts, flip-flops and heavy make-up. Students were also advised to refrain from wearing "inappropriate fashion accessories" and keep hair and fingernails clean.

The university rector didn't make allowances for lighter clothing even in warm weather in the letter he sent out to students. This prompted students to wear only their underwear and go topless to class.

One of the student protestors said they were dressed appropriately but the weather was warm so they removed their clothes to keep their bodies from overheating. Both male and female students attended the class only in their underwear.

Another protest will be held on Oct. 7 with students planning to wear flip-flops and bring beach towels.

From universities to fashion shows, topless protests have become a trend to attract attention and express disagreement of a certain cause.

A Paris fashion show, topless Femen female activists stormed the catwalk in a Nina Ricci fashion show. Topless activists came crashing on the podium and grabbed a surprised model on the catwalk. The topless protestors screamed "Fashion fascism!" along with other words decrying the sexual emphasis of the modeling industry. Their protest words were written in make-up across their chests and torsos.

The topless activists were escorted off the podium to avoid disrupting the show. Like all other topless protests, their actions spread as photos of them topless and raising their arms were circulated in the Internet.
