Top Rank Founder and Chief Executive Officer Bob Arum recently revealed that Amir Khan has previously turned down a fight with Manny Pacquiao in April. Arum said that Khan has already been offered to fight Pacquiao after the Filipino defeated Timothy Bradley, but the fighter did not negotiate further.

Arum told The Telegraph Sport that he tried to find out if the Pacquiao-Khan fight was legally possible. The 83-year-old boxing promoter said that he also tried to see if Khan was interested in the fight.

According to Arum, Khan's camp seemed dispassionate in meeting with Pacquiao's camp when the bout was offered. Arum said that he initially talked to his friend and Freddie Roach's agent Nick Khan, but the latter came back and said that "Khan's advisers gave him the runaround."

"We were told, 'No way,'" Arum said. "They have contractual commitments to others which would prevent that fight from happening, so I dropped it."

Khan is set to return to the ring on Dec. 13. He will defend his World Boxing Council Silver Welterweight title against Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Khan is hoping that he will be able to deliver an amazing performance against Alexander, which he hopes could pave the way for him to earn a fight against unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. Khan, 23-3-19, almost had the chance to face Mayweather in May, but the undefeated boxer decided to fight Marcos Maidana instead.

In an article by The National, Khan said that he wants to fight Mayweather after Alexander. However, if Mayweather still declines to fight him, then Khan is ready to fight other elite fighters. He said he is more than willing to fight Pacquiao. The Bolton-born boxer said that if Mayweather still refuses to take his fight, then he will push for a Pacquiao fight. "I want to be in the mix with the top names," Khan said.

Khan also said that he also wants to get a rematch with Danny Garcia, who previously knocked him out in July 2012. Khan believes that a rematch with Garcia would be a big fight. Unfortunately, Garcia's camp has turned them down three times.
