Leonardo DiCaprio continues to challenge his acting skills with getting to try a wide range of roles including looking like the old J.Edgar Hoover in the most recent Clint Eastwood film 'J.Edgar.' But of course, the highest paid actor of today is not the only one who has played the role of old characters which need old-age makeup.

We present to you the top celebrities who have risked putting on the old age makeup effects just to portray their roles in a more believable manner.

Brad Pitt for 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'

The assigned makeup artist for this movie, Greg Connom, even won an Oscar for his amazing work on the character played out by Brad Pitt. Benjamin Button is a character known to be suffering from the disease of aging backwards.

Russell Crowe for 'A Beautiful Mind'

The actor got his nomination in the Oscars for portraying the renowned mathematician John Nash who also suffered gravely from schizophrenia. It is in the latter part of the movie that the story jumps into decades in the future where he was seen in Nash's 60s age.

Michael J. Fox for 'Back to the Future Part II'

The fans of this hit movie way back in the 80s got a look at the older and way madder Marty McFly played out by Michael J. Fox. The only good thing about him is that he still held his most loved guitar.

Leonardo DiCaprio for 'J.Edgar'

Leo stars as the former FBI director of the United States who truly caked on all that makeup. What's more controversial about this film is the kissing scene between Leo and 'The Social Network' star Armie Hammer.

Katy Perry

This may not be a movie but this music video by Katy Perry deserves to be in the list. For the music video of her song 'The One That Got Away,' she played a very old woman who tries to look back at her past love affair which also stars Diego Luna. Check out the official music video below:
