Sony Xperia users shouldn't go disappointed yet to get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update before 2013 ends with several hints pointing to the much-awaited release. Here are the leaks and clues why Sony cannot delay the major update for December.

Xperia Z and Xperia ZL

XDA developers forum member Androxyde hinted the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware build 10.4.B.0.569 for Sony Xperia Z C6603 and Xperia ZL C6503 and now available for download from the forum's site. Androxyde also quoted the firmware as "Commercial&Journalists" that may rollout in the next few weeks for both smartphones.

Xperia Z1 Gets Certified

PTCRB certified the new firmware build version 14.2.A.0.290 for Sony Xperia Z1 and it is believed to be the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software scheduled for rollout soon. It is also the same firmware that made a brief appearance on Xperia Z Ultra speculated as Android 4.3 as well.

T-Mobile Xperia Z Android 4.2

In the United States, T-Mobile Xperia Z owners received their official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean 10.3.1.E.0.191 that upgrades several functions such as camera access from lock screen, software stability improvements and improved handset rebooting when dialling a call.

Xperia Z owners in the U.S. is one step closer on getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean scheduled in December 2013.

Xperia Z Series Upgrade Plans

Sony already confirmed future upgrade plans for Xperia Z series with Android 4.4 KitKat but it also pushes the company to send out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the time being till the new firmware is complete.

Xperia Z series models include Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z scheduled for a major update in 2014.

Expanded Upgrade Plans

Sony Xperia ZR didn't make it to the first batch of Android 4.4 KitKat announced earlier but the company decided to expand upgrade planning for more Xperia smartphones. Xperia ZR and Xperia SP join the second batch alongside with Xperia T, TX and V for Android 4.4 KitKat future upgrade next year.

Sony Xperia SP is sure to get an Android 4.4 KitKat according to its support page while Xperia ZR, T, TX and V are all 'under investigation' if Android 4.4 is possible for porting in 2014.

Sony needs to keep up against the race of software updates by engaging to upgrade plans announced by HTC, Samsung and recently from LG in order to make Xperia customers stay.
