George Clooney recently appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” to promote his adventure movie “Tomorrowland” directed by Brad Bird. In the talk show episode that aired on May 22, Amal Clooney’s husband apologized for the 1997 movie “Batman And Robin” again.

“Let me just say that I’d actually thought I’d actually destroyed the franchise until somebody else brought it back years later and changed it,” George said of Joel Schumacher’s “Batman And Robin,” in which he played Batman/Bruce Wayne opposite Chris O’Donnell as Robin/Dick Grayson.

George added that at the time, he thought playing Batman was going to be a very good career move but it was not. He also shared the difficulties of wearing Batsuit and made an impression of Schumacher directing with a microphone.

This is not the first time George apologized for “Batman and Robin.” At New York Comin-Con in October 2014, the “Tomorrowland” actor told the audience that since he played Batman in Schumacher’s film in 1997, he was banned from Comic-Con and apologized.

After Schumacher’s “Batman And Robin,” Christian Bale played Batman/Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins” in 2005. In 2016, Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will star Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent.

Meanwhile, “Tomorrowland” opened to $41.7 million during the Memorial Day at the box office. While Disney’s futuristic utopian film took the top spot, the recent Memorial Day box office was the worst since 2001, according to CNN.

At the Memorial Day box office, “Tomorrowland” was able to beat “Pitch Perfect 2,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Poltergeist,” “Hot Pursuit,” “Furious 7,” “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2,” “Home” and “The Age of Adaline.”

Co-written by Bird and Damon Lindelof, “Tomorrowland” stars George as a former boy genius Frank Walker opposite Britt Robertson as an optimist and science enthusiast Casey Newton. Joining George and Robertson in the cast are Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Bauer, Thomas Robinson, Pierce Gagnon, Matthew MacCaull and Judy Greer, among others.

After “Tomorrowland,” George will appear in Jodie Foster’s “Money Monster,” which he is currently filming. In 2016, he will star in Ethan Coen and Joel Coen’s “Hail, Caesar!” opposite Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum.
