British actor Tom Hardy said that Bane is a villain who will crush some skulls and snap some heads off in the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises".

Did Batman finally meet his match in his latest antagonist Bane? The villain will be played by the great British actor Tom Hardy, saying that the role is physically challenging.

"He's (Bane) brutal, brutal. He's expedient delivery of brutality. He's a big dude who's incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and orientated fighting style. The result is clear." says Hardy to Empire magazine.

"The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it's nasty. Anything from small joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. It's anything he can get away with," the actor quickly added.

It was announced earlier that the "Inception" star Tom Hardy will play alongside Christian Bale in the latest Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises." Tom Hardy shone when he joined the cast of "Inception" of the same director of the successful Batman movies, Christopher Nolan.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is the third film installment of the Batman franchise. Christian Bale will be back as the Dark Knight who will face his newest antagonist.

Last year, Warner Bros. confirmed that Tom Hardy will be playing Bane, which is one of Batman's most intellectually and physically challenging adversaries.

It was first predicted that it would be "unlikely" that Hardy would be portraying Bane when it was first announced. Although Hardy can easily buff his body for the role, Bane's character is quite unusable. It seems that director Christopher Nolan thinks otherwise.

Bane is quite famous as Poison Ivy's giant henchmen and no more information was known about Bane. However, in the comics, Bane is one of Batman's greatest adversaries. Bane is physically and mentally imposing convict who is obsessed in defeating Batman after hearing tales about his strength and heroism during his time in prison.

In the comics, Bane formulated a plan to break Batman both in body and mind. Bane breaks Batman's spine and leaves Batman paraplegic. This type of role of beefed up criminals is nothing new for Tom Hardy as he portrayed Britain's most violent convict in "Bronson" in the past.
