Twice voted as celebrity’s worst model, singer-actress Miley Cyrus has raised brows, even sparking debates over the latest tattoo she inked on her finger to reportedly express support for gay marriage rights.

Entertainment Web sites have placed a big question mark as to the real intentions of provocative teen singer who was first as celebrity’s worst model for two consecutive years from 2009 and 2010.

E!Online asked if Miley cyrus is practically convincing everyone that she is indeed a good girl as she appears to follow the footsteps of big stars who are open about their advocacies including, Angelina Jolie, Susan Sarandaon, and the like.

This, however is not Miley’s first tattoo as her equal sign on her finger is the seventh of the series of body art the actress had chosen to adorn herself with.

And the “Last Song” actress claimed that each is unique as each carries ‘deep meaning’

  • “Just Breathe” – December 2009
  • Visibly scrawled on her ribcage, Miley Cyrus had her first tattoo when she was 17. Since tattoos is not allowed in the United States, the young singer had her way with a consent from her parents. “Just Breathe” she explained, is a tribute to her friend who died of fibrosis in 2007. “It reminds me not to take things for granted. I mean breathing – that was something none of them could do, the most basic thing. And I put it near my heart, because that is where they will always be,” the teen sensation was quoted as saying by Zimbio.com.

  • “Love” - January 2010
  • ”Love” is the singer’s second tattoo - - the word is inked on all caps on her pinna, the inner portion of her ear. Zimbio noted that Miley had “Love” tattooed on her ear at the same time her father was having his done in early 2010.

“I have ‘Love’ right here to block out all the crap that everyone throws into your ears…I don’t really care about it. [You’re] only supposed to hear the things coming from the people that genuinely love you,” Miley said, according to Zimbio.

  • “Symbol of heart” – September 2010.
  • A-heart-shaped symbol inked at Miley’s right pinkie finger is her third tattoo, she had done in September 2010. Unlike her first two tattoos in words, the “So Undercover” star has been mum about her third tats and has never explained what this symbol mean.

  • “Symbol of a cross” - December 2010
  • Shortly after having her right pinkie finger adorned with the symbol of love - - the heart - - Miley had another image inked in December 2010. The teen singer had added a cross on the side of her right ring finger, followed by a line drawn on her middle finger. Like her ‘heart’ tattoo, Miley has yet to explain the significance of this line and the symbol of a cross on her right ring finger.

  • “Dream Catcher” - February 2011
  • The “equal sign” to support the gay marriage rights is not the first ink of Miley’s that had undergone close scrutiny. Her ‘dream catcher’ tattoo has received the public ire when she had them done in February 2001. The “dream catcher” is Miley’s biggest tattoo, found on her body’s right side. As earlier reported by IBTimes early this year, a friend said in an interview that Miley had the dream cather inked to pay tribute to her siblings and she had it with four feathers, each representing her siblings. Miley’s friend noted that that the "dream catcher is to protect them."

  • “Anchor” – May 2011.
  • Miley Cyrus’s sixth tattoo is a symbol and an image of an ‘anchor’ the singer had had inked by Brazilian artist Fabio Satori. As seen in the picture, Miley had an ‘anchor inked on the outer face of her right wrist.

The singer did not leave Brazil after her “My Gypsy Heart Tour” without visiting the country’s renowned tattoo artist, reports said.

“Everyone had an idea in mind and references. She asked me something soft, I made two drawings and she chose one. Miley told her mother that she wanted something that refers to a safe port, something that reminded her that she always has a safe place to return to. The significance of the design is one of hope and a reminder to always have your feet on the ground,” Satori said, describing how Miley made a choice for her sixth tattoo.

  • “Equal sign" – July 2011.
  • The outspoken Hannah Montanna star has posted on Twitter a picture of her seventh tattoo, an equal sign with a caption, “All LOVE is equal”. According to reports, the singer’s latest tattoo represents her support for equal LGBT rights. Her latest ink has sparked debates on the social media network when she failed to convince some of her followers who did not share her opinion.

"Everyone is entitled to opinions. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.:)", Miley said on Twitter.
