Tessa James, having recently completed her chemotherapy treatment, was spotted wearing a dazzling smile while on a casual stroll with husband Nate Myles, wearing matching breezy clothes on the Gold Coast last Friday. It was the first time the 23-year-old actress had been seen out in public since her treatment started.

According to Mirror, the former “Home and Away” soap opera starlet had fought the cancer battle for months, diagnosed around September last year with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer attacking the lymphatic system. Her illness prompted her abrupt return to Queensland to battle it out, around the time she was pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles.

Now, after almost half a year of treatment, her appearance has vastly improved and she is now in perfect shape, the only visible remnant of the harrowing ordeal she suffered being the hair loss. Although the cap concealed the lot of her scalp, it appears she is growing her hair back.

To mark the end of her brave journey to recovery, James' family reportedly threw her a simple celebration party last month, The Daily Telegraph stated. The pictures depicted the survivor beaming at the camera, surrounded by her family and her husband. The actress wore a Wonder woman costume, a fitting outfit for a woman so tough.

The actress had never openly despaired over the previous unfortunate turn of events, in part because her rugby league player husband Myles, who she had been married to since 2011, stood by her all throughout the rough patch. Tessa's last Instagram post before the start of her chemotherapy session had been captioned, "Today I am thankful". Now, the actress revealed that she really had a lot to be grateful for.

James appears to be recuperating still and is apparently taking things slow. So far, there had been no project that the actress was rumored to have undertaken. A number of fans admired her courage and optimism, hoping to see her again on the screen soon.
