Celine Dion revealed during her recent interview that her husband Rene Angelil cannot eat and has to be fed through a tube inside his throat. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer was in tears as she described the condition of Angelil, who is suffering from esophageal cancer. The couple has been married for twenty years.

“He can't use his mouth. He can’t eat, so I feed him," a tearful Dion revealed in an interview with ABC News’ Deborah Roberts (via Toronto Sun). The 46-year-old singer also said that Angelil, 73, has a feeding tube and she feeds him just like she feeds her kids. The couple got married in 1994 and have four-year-old twin boys Eddy and Nelson.

Dion said that her family is “taking life one day at a time," but they are “choosing to live." Her full interview, where her husband Angelil is also present by her side, will be aired Wednesday on Good Morning America at 7 a.m. PT/ET and at night time at 12:35 a.m. PT/ET. The Canadian songstress took a sabbatical from her stage career when she discovered that her husband has throat cancer. During the time when her husband needed her, Dion postponed her run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and also cancelled her tour of Asia. But the singer is now taking an emotional journey back to singing. The website also quoted her representative as saying that Dion will resume her residency at Caesars Palace Las Vegas on August 27 with a new act.

The singer told the website that “singing is the only thing” she knows and her fans are aware that her life is an open book. The singer performed at Caesars from 2003 to 2007 and again starting in 2011. For her upcoming performances, Dion has made lot of changes to her background orchestra. According to Global News Canada, the singer has parted ways with her musical director of 28 years and has also replaced three musicians. Dion’s manager Aldo Giampaolo said in a statement that the step was taken to “breathe new life” into Dion’s upcoming show.
