A figure from Sam Winchester’s past will be featured in “Supernatural” Season 11, episode 8 titled “Just My Imagination.” The Winchester brothers will once again take a break from dealing with Amara/The Darkness (Emily Swallow) in the next “Supernatural” Season 11 episode in order to focus on a new “Monster of the Week” case which involves imaginary friends.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “Supernatural” Season 11 spoilers.

The synopsis of “Supernatural” Season 11, episode 8 in a Comic Book Movie report teases that Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) will be shocked because of the unexpected appearance of his childhood imaginary friend named Sully. An exclusive Variety report confirmed last September that “Hello Ladies” actor Nate Torrence will guest star in CW’s fantasy-horror TV series as Sully, who will ask help from the Winchester hunters.

The next episode’s synopsis and promo video further teased that Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) can also see Sam’s imaginary friend. Sam has no idea why he sees Sully again but the flashback scenes in “Supernatural” Season 11, episode 8 will reveal Sam’s friendship with Sully and why his imaginary friend needs him now.

The next “Supernatural” Season 11 episode will also temporarily take Sam and Dean’s mind off of their main concern which is fixing the damage they have done after releasing the Darkness in the finale of “Supernatural” Season 10. In the seventh episode titled “Plush,” Sam and Dean put aside their search for the Darkness to work on the case of a vengeful spirit.

At the moment, what the Winchesters have are all of the pre-biblical lore that Castiel (Misha Collins) was able to find. The Winchester brothers have also discussed in the previous episode about Sam’s visions and his prayers to God for help.

“Don’t count on God, count on us,” Dean told his younger brother in “Supernatural” Season 11, episode 7. However, Sam believes God will be able to help them take down His sister, Amara/The Darkness.

Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) revealed to Castiel in “Supernatural” Season 11, episode 6 titled “Our Little World” that God sacrificed Amara in order to create the world. As for Amara, she told Dean that she plans to settle an old score now that she is free.

“Supernatural” Season 11 will take a break from airing a new episode this week. The fans can meet Sam’s imaginary friend Sully when “Supernatural” Season 11 returns with episode 8 titled “Just My Imagination” on Thursday night, Dec. 2, at 9/8c on the CW Network.
