“Supernatural” fans will once again see a young Sam Winchester in the upcoming episode 8 of season 11. Aside from dealing with the major threat of the Darkness in the new season, the Winchester brothers will also be working on different cases in the CW TV series wherein one of them involves Sam’s imaginary childhood friend.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “Supernatural” Season 11 spoilers.

SpoilerTV reports that Dylan Kingwell will portray young Sam Winchester in “Supernatural” Season 11, episode 8 titled “Just My Imagination.” Kingwell also shared about the “Supernatural” casting news on Twitter.

“So excited that I have booked a Guest Star role on #SupernaturalSeason11 can't wait to meet everyone!!!” Kingwell posted on his Twitter account @DylanKingwell in late September. In the upcoming episode, the “Supernatural” fans will also meet Sully, Sam’s imaginary childhood friend.

Variety exclusively reports that “Hello Ladies” actor Nate Torrence has been cast as Sully in the episode that Richard Speight Jr., who portrayed “Supernatural” character The Trickster/angel Gabriel, will direct. Sully will be needing the help of the Winchester hunters, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) during his appearance in the eighth episode of “Supernatural” Season 11.

As for grownup Sam, he and his older brother Dean will be dealing with the pre-biblical threat that they released in the finale of “Supernatural” Season 10. Cast member Jared Padalecki admitted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that he is excited to see the Winchester brothers back on the same page when it comes to dealing with the show’s new big bad villain.

Jensen Ackles agrees that the Winchester brothers are much better when working together towards the same goal. “Teaming up to figure out what The Darkness is, what it wants, and how to defeat it is the boys' best chance of survival. We're taking the show back to its roots, and it feels good,” Ackles told THR.

“Supernatural” executive producer Jeremy Carver teased that the new season will slowly build up on what the Darkness really is and what the unleashed threat wants to do. However, the Winchesters will have a hard time fixing the mess they made because there is little information about the Darkness and very limited resources when it comes to who might know something on the ancient evil.

Co-executive producer Andrew Dabb further teases that the Darkness will be a really scary and intimidating villain of “Supernatural” Season 11 because no one can predict what she wants. “Supernatural” Season 11 airs on Wednesday nights at 9/8c on the CW Network.
