Season 1 of “Supergirl” has two episodes lef and new promo photos have surfaced from the season finale, titled “Better Angels.” There is also a huge chance that the show will be renewed by CBS for Season 2.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Supergirl” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

“Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is forced to do battle with an unexpected foe and must risk everything – including her life – to prevent Non and Indigo from destroying every person on the planet,” season finale synopsis states.

CBS recently announced its list of renewed shows, without “Supergirl.” However, fans remain optimistic that there will be a second season. CBS president Les Moonves previously said that he believes that all of the shows in their first season will be renewed.

If Season 2 happens, it is very likely that although Cadmus may not be the main enemy, it will be featured more. Previously, J’onnJ’onzz revealed his true identity to the DEO and was almost forwarded to the cloning facility Project Cadmus. Kara and Lucy Lane were able to save J’onn and Alex (Chyler Leigh). However, there are more secrets to know about Cadmus Project, which will probably unfold in Season 2 of “Supergirl.”

Cinema Blend reports that there are also speculations that J’onn and Alex may rescue Kara and Alex’s father, Jeremiah Danvers, whom they found was being kept at Cadmus. The previous episode referenced the facility with some characters looking for its location. They might actually reach Cadmus in the season finale, or upon the start of Season 2. Cadmus is supported by the government, so if Kara goes against them, she might turn out to be a public enemy. There were also rumors that Superboy may appear in future episodes, considering how Cadmus was behind the creation of Superboy in the comics.

“It’s going to remain more of an evil, specter-y thing that’s out there, but it’s definitely something that we’re going to pursue. You know, Cadmus has such a rich history in the comics and the animated shows. There’s so much there to mine. It’ll definitely be part of Season 2,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told IGN.

The next episode of “Supergirl” will air on Apr. 11 on CBS. More updates and details are expected soon.
