The crossover episode between “The Flash” and “Supergirl” will air on Mar. 28, 2016 on CBS. The latest news revealed that there will be a battle against Silver Banshee and Livewire.

The episode, titled “World’s Finest,” will highlight Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teaming up with the speedster The Flash (Grant Gustin). The super duo will also be fighting a couple of villains. The Flash will be lost and disoriented after heading out of his own universe and ending up in Kara’s world. The speedster will ask for help from Supergirl to bring him back home.

Kara will be excited to finally meet one of the good superheroes and agrees to help The Flash on one condition. She will also ask the speedster to help her defeat her competitive colleague SiobhanSmythe, also known as Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci), as well as her old enemy Livewire (Brit Morgan). The two enemies are expected to put up some challenge.

The Flash already has experience with alternate worlds, after previously going to Earth-2 to face Zoom. Variety writes that at that time, the series hinted that there will be a crossover episode with Supergirl soon by featuring a shot of her as Barry moved through the breach between alternate universes. The Flash’s trip also provided more opportunities for characters from various dimensions to enter the DC Comics multiverse in future episodes and perhaps in films.

Supergirl and her cousin, Superman, do not exist on Earth-1. Barry’s ability to travel through time and space has expanded his environment to include other DC Comics-based shows, other than Arrowverse, which was the basis of Earth-1.

Images of The Flash and Supergirl in their costumes already surfaced. A teaser cover also asked the question whether The Flash or Supergirl was faster. The episode’s plot was written by Greg Berlanti, while the teleplay was written by executive producer Andrew Kreisberg and Michael Grassi. Nick Gomez directed “Worlds Finest.”

The episode is expected to be full of action and excitement as the two superheroes go head-to-head against Silver Banshee and Livewire.

“World’s Finest” will air on Mar. 28, 2016 on CBS in the US and on Channel 9 in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
