The season finale of “Supergirl” will air soon and fans are already speculating that a favourite character will most likely die during the episode.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Supergirl” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti told Entertainment Weekly that viewers should expect at least one character to die in the Season 1 finale. Many of Berlanti’s shows generally kill off characters before each season ends.

“Yes you should, only because it would be a lot less exciting if I said no,” Berlanti said when asked whether there would be death in the upcoming episode.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also shared that “Legends of Tomorrow” may have a means of gathering everyone into the “Supergirl” universe. He said that the Waverider can go anywhere and do anything. However, a Flash-Supergirl crossover would be more challenging to do. They hope that they can find a way to make the story feasibly possible.

Kevin Smith also stated on his podcast that fans are going to cry on the “Supergirl” finale. There will be an event that will significantly affect Supergirl, although Smith could not share it at the moment to avoid spoiling the story.

According to BuddyTV, there is a possibility that Kara Danvers’ (Melissa Benoist) sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) may be the one who dies in the season finale. Previously, Alex compared herself to her father, who was presumed dead. Kara and Alex’s relationship has also grown so much in the past episodes and Alex promised that she will do her best to survive. On the contrary, Non, the returning enemy, promised to avenge the death of Astra, whom Alex killed. These may all be signs that Alex is the next one to go.

In the previous episode, “Myriad,” set up a scenario that meant long term consequences for Kara. The finale will be a continuation of the events in “Myriad,” which will be sealed by the death of a character. Two other characters who are rumored to die are Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart).

IGN reveals that, in the meantime, “The Adventures of Supergirl” is set to introduce a new villain who will debut in Chapter 9. The character is female and will be directly linked to Kara in a surprising way.

The Season One finale of “Supergirl,” titled “Better Angels,” will air on April 18 on CBS in the US and on Fox8 in Australia.
