‘Suicide Squad’ release date draws near as 'Squad Yourself' promo gets fans attention [VIDEOS]
As the “Suicide Squad” release date approaches, fans of the DC Comics characters are invited to dial up the hype through a promo called, “Squad Yourself.” The characters in the movie - Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Will Smith’s Deadshot, Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress, Jared Leto’s Joker and Ben Affleck’s Batman - are just some of the inspiration for the squad profile creator.

The first official trailer of “Suicide Squad” on YouTube, posted in January, now has nearly 50 million views. The movie is rated PG-13. Watch the video below.

“Suicide Squad” from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. will premiere in Australian cinemas on Aug. 4 and U.S. cinemas on Aug. 5. John Ostrander wrote the second comic book version of the band of villains also known as Task Force X. David Ayer wrote and directed this year’s movie adaptation.
Jared Leto has told Billboard that his role, The Joker, is a “nearly Shakespearean character” and a “beautiful disaster.” Leto’s interpretation of the big DC Comics villain is among the most highly anticipated parts of “Suicide Squad” because of the notable actors who have played the role quite effectively in the past, namely, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger.
