Street Fighter V
Rainbow Mika is coming to "Street Fighter V." PlayStation Blog

The twin-tailed blonde Rainbow Mika is joining the roster of “Street Fighter V.” And with this new fighter comes a lot of colourful moves, most of which are reflective of R. Mika’s prowess as a star of the ring.

With R. Mika, players can enjoy some semi-flying moves, very reminiscent of wrestling battles. Her V-Skill is called Mic Performance, where she whips out her microphone for a monologue. According to PlayStation Blog, her normal and special throws become more powerful the longer the buttons are held down for this V-Skill. Using the V-Skill, R. Mika can take a hit from the opponent and cancel the speech so her mic will be flung towards her opponent.

As a bonus, R. Mika’s moves also call forth her tag-team partner Nadeshiko, still in their redesigned but very familiar blue and red team combo. Nadeshiko comes out in three variation moves via the V-Trigger. Nadeshiko’s sneak attacks will depend on the player’s own strategy.

She can be summoned using the V-Trigger activation, but players will need to be attentive of the direction that they will activate it in. There are three different angles and ways from which Nadeshiko can attack, namely a body splash from above (neutral), a dropkick coming from the front (hold back) or a dropkick from behind (hold forward).

This is where R. Mika’s attacks can become more strategic, as is the case with some previously introduced fighters in “Street Fighter V.” The V-Trigger variations and some of Rainbow Mika’s wrestling moves can be seen in the reveal trailer below, where she fights off against Vega.

Not everyone may be familiar with R. Mika as a “Street Fighter V” character. She has only previously appeared in “Street Fighter Alpha 3,”and yet her short stint has captivated fans to clamour for her return.

If the introduction of another fighter in the roster is not enough to bring up the hype for the game even more, players may be excited to know that the beta is already coming. Shortly after the stress dates for North and South America, “Street Fighter V” developer Capcom has announced the worldwide beta start and end dates. In the latest blog update, Capcom confirmed that all of the stress tests yielded positive results. As such, they are looking forward to minimal issues, as reflected in the regional server stress tests.

That’s why the worldwide beta test is now dated to start on Aug. 28 at 4:00 p.m.PST. This will run for five days until Sept. 2 at 7:00 a.m. PST. Hopefully, there will no longer be any more issues during the five-day beta. But as usual, players are cautioned on the possibility of connectivity issues, which will be used as additional data to improve the net code for the actual launch.

As usual, Capcom advises fans to make sure and use Wired Internet connections as much as possible for more stable speeds compared to Wi-Fi. In addition, when playing “Street Fighter V” beta, it’s best to keep any background downloads to a minimum or none at all, so the bandwidth will be devoted to the gameplay experience alone.

Alongside the beta run, attendees of the PAX Prime will also get a chance to demo Rainbow Mika at the Capcom booth. “Street Fighter V” is slated to release on the PS4 and PC in March 2016.
