Stephen Curry, the reigning two-time NBA MVP, went 0/11 from three-point territory Monday night during Golden State Warriors' 119-108 road victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center. Despite Curry's awful shooting night, the Warriors managed to begin their 5-game East Coast road trip with a win.

Earlier in the season, Curry went 0/10 from distance on Nov. 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers, his worst-ever outing since entering the league in 2009. Curry, who leads the league with 231 three-pointers this season, had hadn't gone through an NBA game without making at least one three since the 2012-13 season.

Klay Thompson, Curry's Splash Brother, had a pretty forgettable night himself, going 3/9 from deep for his 21 points. Luckily for the Warriors, Kevin Durant returned to the line-up after sitting out last Saturday's game against the Brooklyn Nets with a bruised left hand. Durant had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. See final box score on ESPN.

At the halftime interval, the Warriors led the Sixers by a narrow 59-57 margin before pulling away in the third quarter courtesy Durant's scoring outburst. "On a night like tonight where Steph doesn't have it going, we have a lot of other guys who can score and make plays. A lot of them came through," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the victory, via ESPN.

Draymond Green the key to Golden State's success

Draymond Green, widely regarded as the heart and soul of the Warriors, added 14 points, 6 rebounds 11 assists and 5 steals as the Warriors escaped Philadelphia with a win "There are games where the shots just aren't falling. It was a good effort by everybody to chip in. Sometimes it has to be a complete team effort, and tonight it was," said Green, who is in the running to win the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Sixers coach Brett Brown rued his team's inability to overcome a Warriors team that shot just 6/29 from deep. "That's the dangerous part of picking a game plan. When you take away something, something else gets exposed. It's hard to guard everything. That's the Holy Grail, what they have."

The Warriors' five-game East Coast road trip continues with stops in Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks. Last week, Golden State became the first team to seal a playoff berth. They are projected to reach the NBA finals for a third consecutive year in June.
