Twins Vincent and Marcus Stanford, both accused for the alleged murder of teacher Stephanie Scott, did not make an appearance in the video-court hearing set Wednesday at Griffith Local Court. The family and fiancé of Scott showed no emotions during the proceedings.

The brothers face separate cases. However, both cases were adjourned by the court in November. Both accused did not file for pleas and bail. The twins remain under custody at present.

Drama teacher Stephanie Scotts’ burnt body was found on April 10, 2014. She was last seen five days earlier at 11:00 a.m. The school teacher from Leeton was allegedly raped and murdered by the school cleaner, 24-year-old Vincent. She was murdered six days before her wedding to Aaron Leeson-Woolley. Leeson-Woolley, her partner of five years, and Scott were set to marry on April 11, in the central-western NSW town of Eugowra.

Vincent was arrested four days after Scott disappeared. He was charged with murder. Last June, an additional charge of aggravated sexual assault was also made. Vincent’s arrest came on April 8 after photos of a burnt body were found in his phone and blood in his utility vehicle was discovered. Two days after the discovery of the presumed evidences, a body identified to be Scott’s was found in Cocoparra national park, 70km away from Leeton. In June of the same year, his identical twin brother, Marcus, was arrested on grounds of being accessory after the fact when Vincent sent him Scott’s belongings after the alleged murder.

Police reports that between April 8 to April 31, Marcus helped Vincent after the alleged sexual assault and murder took place at NSW Riverina town of Leeton. There was abundance of evidence involving the case that a three-month adjournment was requested by the Griffith Local Court last June 10 to finish forensic investigation.
