“Star Wars: Rogue One” might include a Han Solo cameo, if the recent speculations are true. The actor shortlist for the character was recently revealed, leading to speculations that the Millennium Falcon pilot will appear in the movie.

According to Variety, the “Star Wars” spinoff movie does not start filming until January next year. Sources privy to information claimed that the actor shortlist is for another “Star Wars” film that is currently in production. [Spoiler Alert!]

“Star Wars: Rogue One” and “Star Wars: Episode VIII” are currently filming. However, Harrison Ford’s Han Solo is not expected to return to the sequel since the character was killed in “The Force Awakens.”

Meanwhile, the timeline in “Star Wars: Rogue One” is said to be set in between “Episode III” and “Episode IV,” so it’s believed a young Han Solo will have a cameo in “Star Wars: Rogue One,” given that the actor shortlist is composed of names of young actors.

Disney and Lucasfilm reportedly narrowed down their actor shortlist for the “Star Wars” spinoff to a dozen. Some familiar names in the Hollywood movie industry also made it to the list. Blake Jenner (“Everybody Wants Some”), Miles Teller (“Whiplash”), Dave Franco (“21 Jump Street”), Jack Reynor (“Macbeth”), Scott Eastwood (“Suicide Squad”), Emory Cohen (“Brooklyn”) and Logan Lerman (“The Three Musketeers”) are said to be in the running to play the young Han Solo.

Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, together with producer Kathleen Kennedy, will reportedly handle the screen test. A decision on who will portray Han Solo in the “Star Wars” spinoff will be revealed in the next two weeks.

“Star Wars: Rogue One” storyline details have yet to be revealed. However, it’s long been rumoured that the film will feature Han Solo and Boba Fett. Boba Fett’s family will reportedly also be featured in the film. It’s believed the plotline will follow the events during the “New Hope” era and the lives of the bounty hunters. The plot supposedly revolves around the rebels hiring the bounty hunters to steal the plans for the Death Star.
