Harrison Ford, a cast member of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” is reportedly recovering from his injuries with the help of his wife Calista Flockhart. The actor had to go through surgery after his vintage plane crashed when it developed engine trouble.

The 72-year-old actor had to spend a lot of time at a Los Angeles hospital, following the accident. According to a report by People, Harrison Ford is recovering with the help and support of his wife. Calista Flockhart apparently visits her husband at the hospital every day after dropping off their son Liam at school.

A source is said to have revealed that Calista Flockhart spends hours with her husband. The report also says that she brings the veteran actor food and some reading material to help him pass the time at the hospital, as he recovers from his injury. The couple supposedly shares a passion for flying, but the recent accident is said to have been a “terrifying” experience for them.

Calista Flockhart is also an actress who is popular for her role in and as “Ally McBeal.” Fans can see her again on their TV screens in 2015, as she plays the role of Ellen Kelly-O’Rourke in “Full Circle.”

According to the report, the National Transportation Safety Board preliminary investigation has revealed that the accident was caused by "substantial damage following a loss of engine power." The accident is said to have resulted in Harrison Ford suffering a wound that was the “size of a pancake.”

This was the second major accident the actor suffered in recent months. Harrison Ford previously suffered an accident while filming a scene for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The actor had injured his leg by a door at the iconic ship Millennium Falcon. The production had to go for a brief two week hiatus in August last year due to the actor’s injury.

Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as the pilot Han Solo in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The actor has not played this role for over three decades. The actor’s current injuries to his face and scalp will reportedly heal and “fade” over time.
