“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will reportedly see the making of a new Empire. There have been many speculations over the past that since Darth Vader and the Emperor's death in “Return of the Jedi” another ruler and possibly another Empire will be introduced in the sequel. This plot in the sequel was seemingly hinted in the recently announced book tie-in with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“Star Wars: Aftermath” is one of the 20 novels that will be released later this year as a book accompaniment to the much-anticipated Dec 18, 2015 film from J.J. Abrams. The first book to the “Journey to The Force Awakens” novels, “Aftermath” tells the events that happen in the Galactic Empire post “Return of the Jedi.” According to Star Wars Underworld, the Barnes & Nobles synopsis for the book talks about the crumbling Galactic Empire. It specifically highlights the destruction of the second Death Star and the rumoured death of the Emperor and his evil sith enforcer, Darth Vader. “Across the galaxy, some systems celebrate, while in others Imperial factions tighten their grip,” the synopsis reads.

However, one interesting line from the synopsis was especially pointed out by the site. “And while the Rebel Alliance engages the fractured forces of the Empire, a lone Rebel scout uncovers a secret Imperial meeting.” This line supposedly teases the reality of the new Empire that viewers will be seeing in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Screenrant once reported that Lupita Nyong’o (said to be playing the character named Rose), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) and Gwendolyn Christie (with her rumoured role as an Imperial Commander) will be the new members of the new Empire. Even Max Von Sydow’s still unknown role as an “ancient evil” is believed to be a member of the crumbling Galactic Empire.

No further details were revealed regarding “Star Wars: Aftermath” and just how its story connects to the plot sequences in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” According to Making Star Wars, “Star: Wars: Aftermath” is the first cannon that will be released when “Journey to The Force Awakens” becomes available on Sept 4, 2015. It was initially labeled as “Untitled Novel #4.”
