As was previously reported, the first scene in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will start with a hand falling from the sky carrying what’s believed to be Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber. The discovery of the Jedi relic is what supposedly sparks the search for the missing Jedi Master. What happens in the first thirty minutes of the film after the lightsaber is discovered would include a meeting between BB-8, Finn, Poe and a vicar rumoured to be played by Max Von Sydow.

Making Star Wars has broken down the sequence of scenes that will reportedly happen in the first thirty minutes of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” According to writer Jason Ward, the film starts at dawn when the lightsaber falls from space unto a certain village and it’s only when day breaks that the hand appears. When nighttime falls again viewers will see BB-8 hurrying off towards the village after being troubled by something. The film will cut off towards a scene inside a village hut, where the vicar (Max Von Sydow) is seen handing over the lightsaber to Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).

StarWars7news once described a concept art showing Max Von Sydow seated somewhere in a dark room illuminated by several dark-orange and bright-yellow lights. This room supposedly shows a resemblance to an area of the Cantina in Tatooine seen in “A New Hope.”

What follows after Poe received the lightsaber is said to be the escape scene. Poe sees Stormtroopers slowing approaching the village. BB-8 rolls in just in time when the vicar tells Poe to leave. Poe and BB-8 make a dash out of the village while the villagers are preparing for battle.

The next scene in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” reportedly sees Poe and BB-8 riding Poe’s X-Wing and the Stormtroopers under fire by the villagers. Enter Finn who despite being one of the flamethrower Stormtroopers, manages to rescue a villager. The battle in the village ensues even from where Poe and BB-8 are watching from a distance.

According to Ward, Kylo Ren arrives during the battle scene and is seen confronting the vicar. It’s believed this confrontation led to the death of Max Von Sydow’s character. Seeing the confrontation, Poe immediately decides to hide Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber inside one of BB-8’s panels before they decide to go their separate ways. BB-8 reportedly manages to escape and sees the Stormtroopers destroying Poe’s X-Wing and burning the village down to the ground. Kylo Ren on the other hand is seen leaving the burning village and heading towards the Star Destroyer. Kylo’s exit supposedly marks the end scene in the first thirty minutes of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
