The behind-the-scenes footage for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” released at the recent San Diego Comic-Con revealed so many details about the film. A couple or more scenes especially somehow prove that Rey has a major role in the sequel as a Millennium Falcon pilot. [Possible Spoiler Ahead]

Starwars7news highlighted some of Daisy Ridley’s (Rey) scenes from the footage which somehow connect her as one of the iconic ship’s pilots. In this photo taken from the video, the actress is seen in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon sitting on the co-pilot’s seat beside Harrison Ford (Han Solo).

Then another screen grab shared by the site shows Daisy Ridley now sitting on the pilot seat with Chewbacca, possibly as her co-pilot. Another behind-the-scenes footage of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” also clearly showed Rey piloting the Millennium Falcon, as seen in this other photo shared by Starwars7news. (See also video below at the 2:30 time stamp).

Jason Ward from Making Star Wars previously mentioned that Rey will eventually inherit the Millennium Falcon in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” because of her parentage. It’s been speculated that she could be Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter.

Ward said Rey not only inherits the Millennium Falcon but also gets to own Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster, the same weapon that was seen in this concept photo presented during the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. One scene in the film will reportedly show Han passing on his treasured gun to Rey.

“While Chewie is still on the ship shutting her down with Finn, Han talks to Rey in private and he passes on one of, if not his most, personal gun to her for protection in Maz’s stronghold,” Ward said.

Rey also befriends Chewbacca, Han’s best friend. This theory is somehow implied in this scene shared by Starwars7news.

However, movie director J.J. Abrams reportedly revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con that Rey and Finn were not written based off on any colour or race. So per Starwars7news it’s likely that these two heroes are not related to any of the legendary Star Wars characters. So Rey may not after all be related to Han Solo or Princes Leia.
