It’s been widely speculated that Finn will be some kind of hero in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” No supporting details were previously revealed until recently. According to a report, Princess Leia will be most grateful for Finn’s assistance in planning the attack against the First Order Imperial soldiers. [Spoiler Alert]

According to Jason Ward from Making Star Wars, there will be a sequence in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” that would show Finn conducting a meeting with the rebels about their attack against the Imperials. “During this sequence, Finn explains the First Order Fortress to the Resistance attackers so they can understand how to bring the evildoers down to their knees once and for all,” Ward said. “Finn’s knowledge of the First Order runs deep and he also explains the ‘Catapult’ (which is The First Order’s ultimate weapon) to the Resistance,” he added.

Finn (John Boyega) is important to the Resistance since he knows the ins and outs of being an Imperial soldier. In “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” prior to joining the Rebels Finn was a Stormtrooper working for the villain Kylo Ren. Ward said his “intelligence is paramount to the Resistance being able to strike back against the First Order.”

His knowledge about the First Order Imperial soldiers is what reportedly inspires Princess Leia to devise a plan on how to defeat the enemy. Ward claimed Leia’s plan would not have seemed possible had Finn not defected from the Imperial and joined the rebels.

This sequence in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” likewise labelled by Star Wars Underworld as the “briefing room scene,” is said to be similar to the briefing sequence in “Return of the Jedi.” It’s reportedly similar to the meeting scene involving Admiral Ackbar, General Madine and Mon Mothma. But in this case, Ward said Finn does most of the talking and planning.

Finn appears to be one of the important characters in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” He also plays a key role in the search for Luke Skywalker, wherein he teams up with Rey (Daisy Ridley) and meets up with Chewbacca and Han Solo along the way.
