Two characters were attached to Billie Lourd’s name when she was cast in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for an undisclosed role. The new actress was rumoured for a young Princess Leia role while the other as Leia’s daughter. However, Lourd preferred to keep the details to her character’s identity in the film a secret when asked during a recent interview.

Billie Lourd briefly talked about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” during her first-ever editorial feature in Interview magazine’s Youth Wave issue. When asked to confirm whether there is any truth to the rumours of her playing as Han Solo and Princess Leia’s offspring in the film, Lourd replied, “I’m not Princess Leia’s daughter.”

According to The Wrap, the actress also shot down rumours linking her to Princess Leia, the iconic “Star Wars” character that made her mother, Carrie Fisher, a movie star. However, Billie Lourd declined to reveal any more details about her “top secret” character in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Billie Lourd previously denied playing the role of a young Princess Leia in a flashback scene in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” When asked about her rumoured character, Lourd told ET Online during an interview “that’s a lie.” “I wish I played a young Princess Leia. Disney, I’m available,” she added. According to StarWars7news, Billie Lourd may have a small role in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” based on her “lack of character” in the film.

During her Interview editorial feature, the 22-year old admitted that it’s always been her “secret dream” to land an acting gig. Her parents, Carrie Fisher and CAA co-chairman Bryan Lourd, had reportedly discouraged her to be an actress since they wanted her to pursue a college degree. She managed to earn a degree from NYU last year but had decided to pursue her acting dream nonetheless. Billie Lourd said “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the “first job” she’s ever had. “Right into the fire,” she told the publication. Billie Lourd is also set to appear in the upcoming show “Scream Queens” opposite Emma Roberts and the two vocal powerhouses Lea Michele and Ariana Grande.
