Was the Darth Vader castle introduced into the franchise as a set up for a bigger scene in “Star Wars: Episode 8”? That is the question a new theory about the film explores. If Kylo Ren’s obsession about his grandfather is any indication, the fans are sure to see some interesting Easter eggs in the upcoming film.

[Spoiler alert]

Pablo Hidalgo of the story development team in Lucasfilm has confirmed that a key scene in “Rogue One” is actually in Darth Vader’s (Voice by James Earl Jones) castle in Mustafar. In a new video posted on YouTube, Mike Zeroh and a guest from Chris Cross Media build on that statement to see what it could mean for Rian Johnson’s film.

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) will be completing his training in the upcoming film. Mike speculates that the training would entail the character discovering more pieces of Darth Vader. Chris suggested that perhaps the purpose of introducing the castle of the Sith Lord in “Rogue One” could be to establish it and then go for a bigger scene in “Star Wars: Episode 8.”

Chris points out that Kylo Ren is obsessed with his grandfather. He has a mask on, and may have once owned the lightsaber that now belongs to Rey (Daisy Ridley). In order to be more like Darth Vader, Driver’s character may want to go to places where the Sith Lord has been, train like him, dress like him, and even own objects that once belonged to him.

According to the theory, the big scene in “Star Wars: Episode 8” could be a room full of Darth Vader suits, like Iron Man has, and Kylo Ren could be examining them in a room or maybe trying one on. Mike points out that there is a leak suggesting that the new villain will be wearing the cape that may have once belonged to his grandfather.
