“Star Wars Rebels” season 3 episode 11 is not scheduled to air before Christmas. The episode will mark the return of the familiar character Saw Gerrera. The team behind the show also teased what the fans can expect to see in the next part of the season.

[Spoiler alert]

The main plans of the new villain Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) has remained a mystery so far. In the latest episode of “Rebels Recon” the team behind the show teased how the next part of the season will start to reveal to the fans what the villain has been planning all along, while he was closely studying the heroes and their culture.

There will also be scenes inspired by the non-canon “Clone Wars” animation series. However, most of what the team said was beeped out in the video. Another big connection in the next episode of “Star Wars Rebels” season 3 has to do with “Rogue One.”

Pablo Hidalgo pointed out that by the time episode 11 airs most people would have seen “Rogue One,” so they will be able to talk more freely about certain elements of the show. One connection Entertainment Weekly has confirmed is the return of Saw Gerrera (Voice by Forest Whitaker).

The Saw Gerrera on the show is a lot younger than the one seen in the film. He is also “a bit healthier” and “a lot meaner.” The character was amongst the first to take up arms against the Empire, and was seen in the “Clone Wars” series. Producer Dave Filoni said that the character feels that if people don’t start to fight, then the Emperor and his forces will become unstoppable.

When asked if the Ghost and Saw Gerrera will do some detective work that may threaten the Imperial leadership, Filoni said that it is “pretty possible.” “Star Wars Rebels” season 3 episode 11 is titled “Ghosts of Geonosis” and will air on Jan. 7.
