Sophie Monk is stranded in Dubai with a mysterious illness. The Australian singer/model broke down in tears on air as she was talking via phone to “Breakfast with the Stars” co-presenters Jules Lund and Merrick Watts on Monday, describing her Dubai experience “the worst holiday of my life.”

What started as a fun interview turned out to be an upsetting one for Monk as she recounted her ordeal. The 34-year-old is in the United Arab Emirates city for a photo shoot for a fashion label, but after her foot got swollen, she was prevented to leave the country.

She took a photo of her left foot on her Instagram.

“I mean??? After this pic, I understand why some say I’m a sex symbol! #Allergy #IMissMyAnkle #AreTherePlusSizeSocks?” she captioned the photo.

Although she included the hashtag #Allergy, she admitted that they still don’t know what caused her foot to swell. Her other foot isn’t affected, though.

Monk had also posted photos of medical staff in her hotel room.

“Balls! A day with doctors and tests was not on my list of holiday activities! Unless they have a tan injection, IV of wine, or left there [sic] prescription pad. Ha.”

“I have rash on my hands as well. This is the worst holiday of my life,” Monk complained to Lund and Watts over the phone, adding that her foot is so swollen that “it looks like an elephant.”

“It’s not normal, it’s not cute, and I’ve got to be honest, my knee is smaller than my ankle. That’s not hot. So I could literally wear my necklace as an anklet.”

A source told the Daily Mail Australia that Monk is probably suffering from a case of deep vein thrombosis, which is a clotting of blood in a deep vein, causing inflammation.

“I’m upset,” Watts said, her voice started cracking. “For real.”

“We thought it was going to be funny, but it’s not that funny now,” Watts admitted.

“Look, Soph, this is probably not a conversation we should have live on air,” Lund said, adding that her situation sounded really serious.

Monk’s Instagram followers expressed their concern for the blonde beauty, with some offering their own diagnosis.

“Her Sophie really hope you are feeling better, must be really tough being stuck overseas not knowing what is wrong. Hopefully you will be back in Aus soon x x x,” brendonbb wrote.

“Oh god you poor thing! Are you panicking? Sending love and hugs your way. You are brave xoxo,” misskelz82 added.

“That happened to me after getting an infection in my foot in a pool in Bali through a bit. It was cellulitis and I spent a week in hospital on strong antibiotic. You need to get it checked,” jobel5 thought.
