Rumors have been circulating online that Sony’s new flagship smartphone named, Xperia Z5, will bring with it an array of exciting features. Reports also indicate that Sony has two other smartphones that will accompany the Z5; Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xperia Z5 Compact.

Technodify reports that Sony will unveil the device in Septermber in Japan and possibly make the rumors official at the upcoming IFA 2015. The report added that the Japanese company will likely unveil the Xperia Z5 in September in Japan and possibly make it official at the upcoming IFA 2015. The new smartphones will supposedly be in the market soon, before the year ends and in time for the holiday season.

Back in April this year, pictures of what is said to be the Xperia Z5 were leaked to Weibo. The picture provided a look into the metallic casing of the rumored device, and it also confirmed that the rear camera would remain on the top left, just like previous Xperia models.

Also, captions for the picture mentioned “Type-C”- which could mean a USB-C port , as well as the numeric 9 which hinted at a September announcement for the Z5.

More features have been revealed for the new smartphone. It will reportedly sport a fingerprint scanner, putting it at par with the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S5. It is not yet known whether or not it will be embedded in the home button.

As for the screen size, it is not yet known for the Z5 but considering the Xperia Z4v/Xperia Z3+(both with a 5.2-inch screen), Z5 could sport a screen that would be similar if not slightly enhanced, than the two devices. It is speculated to house Qualcomm’s Smapdragon 820 chipset, which has yet to be released and is being tested out on Xiaomi Mi5.

Camera-wise, the Z5 will have a powerful 21MP primary camera with LED flash, autofocus, Exmore RS IMX230 CMOS sensor and 4K video recording capabilities.

The device will also pack in 4GB of RAM and a microSD card to increase the memory. As for the battery, it will reportedly house a 4,500 mAH battery. The device is said to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop straight out of the box.
