Fresh report states that the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 and the much-bigger Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra will be announced at the CES Expo event scheduled for Jan. 5 in Las Vegas. In addition to the launch date, the report also revealed all the key specifications, alongside some believable images of the Xperia Z4 handset.

The flagship smartphone Sony Xperia Z4 will reportedly feature a 5.4-inch Triluminos display with Quad HD resolution. Unlike the earlier rumours, the Z4 will not be powered by Snapdragon 810 processor, instead, the device will be powered by Snapdragon 805 SoC. It is worth noting that, the Snapdragon 810 chipset will not be able to make it to the devices planned for January time frame launch. If reports are true, the latest chipset will be made available by the manufacturer Qualcomm, sometime in the first two quarters of 2015, according to credible tips received by Phone Arena.

On the software side, the handset will run on Android v5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box. Plus, the handset will reportedly be backed by a killer 4 GB of RAM. Speaking of camera, the same 20.7 MP primary unit seen in the Xperia Z3 will be maintained in the Z4 as well. However, the sensor will be new and two more lens units will be added to the camera. Notably, the addition of lens will help in collecting more light for better photography. Also, the front-facing unit will be a 4.8 MP snapper with wide-angle view.

Lastly, the device will come equipped with a solid 3,420 mAh battery unit providing brilliant endurance. On the device design, the Xperia Z4 will sport thinner bezels on the top and bottom of the device, along with more rounded edges.

Moving on to Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra, the handset will reportedly feature a humongous 5.9-inch Triluminos display, Snapdragon 805 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 16 MP primary camera unit with dual LED flash. Interestingly, the Z4 Ultra will boast an extremely thin chassis, along the lines of 5.7 mm thickness.

Interested readers should head to Phone Arena to get a glimpse of the leaked Sony Xperia Z4 images. What do you think of the reported specifications of the Sony Xperia Z4? Will 4 GB RAM become the new norm in the handsets set for 2015 release? Feel free to leave a comment.
