Owners of the Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet can now get the latest Android Lollipop software with build version 23.2.A.1.62. According to sources, the software is live via XperiaFirm tool for both devices.

Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet 23.2.A.1.62 Firmware Update

A new Android Lollipop software version has been made available for Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. It has the build version of 23.2.A.1.62 compatible for Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 and Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP521. GizmoBolt reported that the firmware has been spotted in several European territories including Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland and Slovak Republic. However, there is no change log yet regarding the new firmware version.

It is expected that the new firmware will soon be made available for other territories such as United Kingdom and outside Europe such as Australia and New Zealand which currently on Android Lollipop 23.1.A.1.28 software version based on the XperiaFirm tool. Official software support page of Sony Xperia Z2 also noted the 23.1.A.1.28 version as current.

How To Use XperiaFirm Tool For Android Lollipop Update

1. Download the XperiaFirm tool by clicking here on the computer.

2. Install the executable tool on the computer.

3. Launch the XperiaFirm flash tool.

4. Go to the left side of the user interface on XperiaFirm and select the device including the appropriate region and model number then click on Check All.

5. Double check and select the appropriate region. Select the firmware version you want to download at the farthest right of the screen.

6. Click Download which will open a new window requesting permission to choose where the firmware will be stored. Check the box “Unpack Automatically.”

7. After the firmware has been downloaded and unpacked, open the folder where it is located.

8. Download the Xperia Flashtool by clicking here.

9. Launch the Xperia Flashtool and follow the instructions prompted by a notification if any.

10. Select Tools > Bundles > Create on the Xperia Flashtool and select the source folder where the downloaded firmware is located.

11. Double click on the Device area box and select the device’s name including the respective model number.

12. Under Branding, type in the region name while firmware number under the Version area box.

13. Select all files under the Folder List and click on the “->” to transfer then to the other side and hit the Create button.

14. Once the bundle creation has been completed, you can now use the ftf file to flash it to the device using Xperia Flashtool.
