The Sony Xperia Honami has been making appearances at numerous tech reports but the latest is at the Federal Communications Commision (FCC) listing. The FCC report claims that the upcoming Sony device will be officially announced before September 30, 2013 and the arrival at retail stores is scheduled on the first week of October.

Rumoured features and specs for the Sony Xperia i1 Honami device are the 5-inch Full HD Triluminos screen display with X-reality engine, 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, up to 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded through the microSD card slot and the 20MP rear-facing camera that comes with the Sony G-lens and BIONZ image processor.

The available connectivity choices for the Honami device are Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi and support on GSM/UMTS/LTE networks. The Sony Xperia Honami has the IP57 certification meaning the device will be fully dust-resistant and go under water with a depth of one meter and survive for 30 minutes.

A 3000mAh battery will supply power to the Sony Xperia Honami that will run on the rumoured Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The device enthusiasts can choose from the available Sony Xperia Honami colour options of white, black and purple.

However, the Japanese company did not reveal the precise date of the new firmware's availability.

With the FCC listing on the Sony Xperia Honami, the device is anticipated to make its first grand appearance at the scheduled 2013 IFA trade show for consumer electronics in Berlin, Germany on September 4.
