The HTC Desire 500 has been making the rounds on numerous reports in the past but the Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has now officially introduced the smartphone. The Taiwan release date is scheduled on August 1, with the objective of attracting office-goers and youth consumers.

The HTC Desire 500 features a 4.3-inch WVGA screen display with 800x480p resolution, the 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, 1.6MP front-facing camera and 8MP rear-facing camera that has the ability to record HD videos at 720p.

The rear camera is accompanied with a BSI sensor and an LED flash while the front camera is capable of capturing high quality resolution images. HTC offers a 4GB internal storage capacity on the recently unveiled smart phone which can be expanded up to 64GB through the microSD card slot.

Additional features and specs are the 1800mAh battery, Android Jelly Bean operating system, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS. According to HTC, the battery can provide the smartphone users with 17.8 hours of talk time and 401 standby hours.

The highlights of HTC Desire 500 are the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and HTC Sense 5, even though the smartphone missed the BoomSound found on the HTC One. For the company, the logic is clear. It wants to add more visual treat than the audio pleasure.

The HTC Desire 500 also features Beats Audio, the BlinkFeed and the presence of dual front speakers. HTC has not yet confirmed the market price of the smartphone but gadget experts assert that the HTC Desire 500 will be available at an affordable price.
