2015 was a good year in gaming as it saw the likes of excellent titles including “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” “Fallout 4,” “Rocket League” and “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.” However, console exclusives aren’t as prominent this year compared to previous years. A Sony executive has revealed though that next year will see the release of several top exclusives for the PlayStation.

Compared with Microsoft Xbox One, the PlayStation 4’s list of exclusives for 2015 is very limited, and it seems Sony is looking to take a different approach next year. Recently, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida claimed that 2016 will see the release of some excellent console exclusives for the PlayStation 4.

In an interview with Japanese gaming website 4Gamer (translated by Dualshockers), Yoshida noted that 2016 is the year for fans to officially purchase the PlayStation 4 as there are a lot of things in store for it. First off, 2016 is the year that Sony will release its foray into virtual reality with the PlayStation VR.

As for exclusives, “Horizon: Zero Dawn,” “Street Fighter V,” and “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” will all be released in 2016. “Gran Turismo Sport” will also be playable in a beta version. Aside from the exclusives, players can expect a lot of amazing third-party games like the yearly release of “Call of Duty” and “Assassin’s Creed.”

Among the exclusives, perhaps the most anticipated title to date is the conclusion to the “Uncharted” series with “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” releasing in April. After this, the game’s developer Naughty Dog has yet to reveal what their next project is.

Meanwhile, “Horizon: Zero Dawn” is a new IP for Sony, and it’s garnering a lot of fans so far. The game features a huge open-world filled with mechanical creatures that players can hunt in a variety of ways.
