"Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara and husband Joe Manganiello took to their Instagram accounts to blast Star Magazine for its cover, which the couple declares as "fake news." The tabloid's cover shows Vergara dancing with another guy while her wedding ring is absent from her finger. It also says that the couple's marriage is over and that Vergara was caught cheating in Rome.

Sofia lashes out at the tabloid

The 44-year-old actress who's known for her candidness didn't hold back when she lashed out at Star Magazine. She posted a photo of the cover that features her and Manganiello along with some choice words.

"The editor of this magazine is an idiot_if he is going to have my ring removed to created a "fake" "news" he should have made sure that he removed from social media all the other pictures of that award night in Rome where Im wearing it," Vergara wrote in the caption of the Instagram photo.

She explained that the other guy in the photo is actually her friend as well as the producer of her film "Bent." The Colombian actress was in Rome to shoot the movie. Vergara said that he even visited their home to spend Easter with her and Manganiello.

Joe's reaction

Meanwhile, Manganiello also couldn't help but react to Star Magazine's erroneous cover about them. The 40-year-old actor who is famous for his roles in "True Blood" and "Magic Mike XXL," posted the same cover with the following caption:

"Big surprise everyone but Star created a fake story and then photo shopped my wife's engagement ring off of her finger in order to sell magazines," Manganiello wrote. "They are run by malicious trash. Do the world a favor and don't buy their garbage."
