The users of the social networks may not be aware of the fact that every little move like a comment or a posting is recorded silently by machines at the other end. According to statistics revealed, the amount of digital data that is collected and used is staggering today is scary. Users of a popular service were in for shock early this year at secretive 'experiment on human beings 'emotional contagion.

But yet Social Medias offer the chance to share images, personal thoughts with a ridiculous sense of freedom, which no medium has ever given us in the past. They are also a major link to making connections and interactions of all kinds -- Be it personal or business. They are a part of our lives intertwined with our daily activities. No denying with that. And we are not in the least forced to be part of these networks.

But do we ever take the time to read the terms when we sign up for these services? Hardly ever, because according to a statistical report, the urge to click on is so highly irresistible that we fail to notice the legal contract that we are bound to. These large documents of contract, when simply placed, indicate that we are not actually in control of our own online lives. Take for instance a clause, of an extremely popular Social media site in reference to an image- "A worldwide, non-exclusive royalty-free license (with the right to sublicense)"--meaning, the company reserves the right to use, modify or transfer the image you have posted.

What it might imply may be the need to be a bit more cautious and less impetuous when signing up for social networking services. Please leave your thoughts.
