Sharon Stone has posed naked for the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, and the 57-year-old is looking stunning in the pictures. And, in a candid interview with the magazine, the Hollywood actress talked about the problems she faced in her career after suffering brain hemorrhage in 2001.

It was her first nude photoshoot for Playboy magazine in 1990s that gave her the first big break -- the role opposite actor Michael Douglas in “Basic Instinct.” In the 1992 film, she played the role of a seductive female, Catherine Trame, who famously uncrossed her legs during an interrogation to show that she is not wearing any underwear under her short dress. Stone's bold scene became one of the most controversial and talked about scenes at the time.

Soon after “Basic Instinct,” Stone became one of the leading actresses of Hollywood. However, her blossoming acting career came to a halt when she suffered aneurysm in 2001, followed by a cerebral hemorrhage that lasted nine days, Harpers Bazaar reported. Stone thought she was dying when she opened her eyes in hospital.

"When I came to, the doctor was leaning over me. I said, 'Am I dying?' And he said, 'You're bleeding into your brain,' " she told the Harper's Bazaar magazine. "I said, 'I should call my mom,' and he said, 'You're right. You could lose the ability to speak soon.' "

When she was discharged from hospital, she stuttered, limped and did not have a clear vision. On the personal front, she separated from her husband, journalist Phil Bronstein, and also lost custody of their adopted son. She made a comeback in 2003, but the award-winning actress was not happy with the small roles that she was being offered to do.

"I thought, 'You know what? I got thrown off the bullet train, and now I'm going to have to crawl up a hill of broken glass, get back on the train that's going a million miles an hour, and work my way from the cattle car up,” Stone said to Harper's Bazaar.

The “Casino” actress is now returning to television as an actress and executive-producer on a new show “Agent X.” She has been cast as the Vice-President of the United States in this television spy drama series that will air on TNT channel.
