More heart-gripping action awaits fans of “Shades of Blue” as the NBC series airs its third episode on Sunday. On the upcoming run, titled “Ghost Hunt,” FBI Agent Robert Stahl (Warren Kole) decides to use Harlee Santos (Jennifer Lopez) to get the dirt on a controversial target.

Stahl ran into a brick wall with his mission to pin down Councilwoman Julia Ayres (“Breaking Bad's” Anna Gunn). The FBI agent originally gave the task to Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta), but he refused since Ayres, who’s running for mayor, is his close friend. Other characters from the series who will appear prominently on the episode include Carlos Espada (Vincent Laresca), Tess Nazario (Drea de Matteo), Marcus Tufo (Hampton Fluker), Michael Loman (Dayo Okeniyi ) and Cristina Santos (Sarah Jeffery).

Spoiler alert! This update contains more "Shades of Blue" spoilers. Read on at your own risk if you have not watched the latest episode.

TV Guide reports that also on Sunday’s episode, Internal Affairs officer Verco (Dov Davidoff) urges everyone in the crew to find out the truth behind Donnie Pomp’s (Michael James Esper) death. Fans of the series would remember that in season 1, Pomp – who turned out to be a traitor – got killed by Loman in self-defence. Wozniak even helped Loman get rid of the body by cremating it.

“Shades of Blue” also posted sneak peeks for the March 19 episode on its official YouTube page. [Watch below.] In the clip, Stahl tells Harlee that Wozniak backed off their deal. Wozniak agreed to give Stahl a piece of evidence that would prove Julia is dirty or the whole crew goes down. Stahl also informs her that Miguel has disappeared and just dropped off the grid. Later, he’s seen approaching Cristina, probably to get information from her.

Meanwhile, Harlee tells the team that a detective is digging dirt about Donnie Pomp. Wozniak, on the other hand, reports that Terrence Linklater (Stephen Lang) is back. Harlee finds herself alone with the rogue DEA agent who says, “You cost me $12 millon.” Later, Tufo feels danger is lurking around and he may be right – Linklater is seen preparing to shoot him.

“Ghost Hunt” also features guest stars Kristina Reye (Monica) and Christian Thom (Barback), according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb). Find out what happens next on “Shades of Blue” Season 2, which airs in the US this Sunday at 10/9c on NBC. In Australia, the series airs every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on Universal Channel.
