"Spring Breakers" starring Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and Vanessa Hudgens had made its debut a few months back. Yet, the hype about "Spring Break Forever" continues. With the film causing a lot of fans to reel from the shock, it's not surprising the Harmony Korine directed film has made its way to the iTunes top spot.

Harmony Korine's drug and booze fuelled film, "Spring Breakers" managed to beat "Despicable Me" and "Admission" to the top spot on iTunes. Despite "Despicable Me" getting a boost from the sequel in cinemas, "Despicable Me 2", it wasn't enough to beat the bikini-clad babes, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Harmony Korine and Vanessa Hudgens.

While iTunes dubbed "Spring Breakers" as a "thriller" in the store, the film is anything but the classic thriller. In fact, Indiewire Chief Film Critic, Erik Kohn had fairly described it as "an elegant evocation of noir storytelling, littered with misdeeds with girls and guns at every turn."

Fans of the film are clearly hooked on the bad-ass movie which has garnered quite the views to be named number one. Yesterday, Selena Gomez was one to announce the films' success on Twitter before director Harmony Korine.

"Spring Breakers forever!! So happy you made it #1! Congrats to all who worked on this film," tweeted Gomez.

"It's crazy! I never had any other film even close to #1," said Korine in an interview with Indiewire, adding, "To have this movie where it's at right now is very strange and very nice."
