Patrick Schwarzenegger has joined the star-studded cast of “Scream Queens,” just days before the show’s debut.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of “Scream Queens,” took to Twitter to announce the name of the new cast member. Murphy didn’t reveal details about Schwarzenegger’s character, but Variety has learned that he is set to appear as a relative of an existing cast member in an episode scheduled to air in November.

“Happy to announce that PATRICK SCHWARZENEGGER has joined the cast of SCREAM QUEENS,” Murphy tweeted.

“Scream Queens,” Fox’s new comedy-horror series, has been created by Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. The first season, which is set in a college campus, “is part black comedy, part slasher flick and a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder… or could easily be the next victim,” according to Fox’s synopsis of the show. Murphy has directed the pilot episode.

Schwarzenegger, who is making his small-screen debut with “Scream Queens,” stars in the series alongside Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Oliver Hudson, Skyler Samuels and Abigail Breslin.

Schwarzenegger previously told Teen Vogue that for him, acting provides an opportunity to portray someone else’s life. “The best thing about acting is portraying a character that has a different life than yours,” he said.

The 22-year-old, who is the son of Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, added that he “fell in love with going to the set” because he spent a considerable time with his father on the set during his childhood.

Schwarzenegger has previously done small roles in films such as “Grown Ups 2” and “Stuck in Love.” He will be next seen in “Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse,” which is set to release on Oct. 30. His other projects include “Dear Eleanor,” “North” and “Midnight Sun.”

“Scream Queens” premieres Sept. 22 on Fox channel in the U.S.
