As the debut of Samsung Galaxy S7 on Feb. 21 draws nearer, more rumours surface regarding its launch and expected features. Latest speculations indicate that Samsung will not release the high-end Galaxy S7 Edge+ variant in Europe, at least in the U.K and would rather bring the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 next year.

According to undisclosed sources from the U.K, first reported by Tech Radar, the Korean tech giant will follow a different marketing strategy this year. This appears to be the basis for the decision to hold back the release of its top-end Galaxy S7 Edge+ in the European market. The other reason may be the lukewarm response in Europe for the Samsung flagship Galaxy S6 Edge+ released last year.

Sources from UK’s major networks also mentioned that the Galaxy S7 Edge+ may never land in the United Kingdom. The disappointing sales of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ last year has reportedly prompted Samsung to decide against launching the device in the U.K. at all.

Instead, the company would launch the Galaxy Note 6 in the U.K. from the beginning. As reported by GSM Arena, Samsung may follow the same pattern for the rest of the continent as well. Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 6 globally in August, with an all new design and overhauled specs onboard. However, Samsung is yet to confirm the Galaxy Note 6 release date.

Samsung’s next generation of Note series may come packed with an improved stylus and more built-in storage. The Galaxy Note 6 may also incorporate a pressure-sensitive display technology like 3D Touch in Apple’s iPhone 6s.

In 2015, Samsung decided to skip the launch of its most coveted Note 5 in Europe in the first round. Later, the company announced to launch Galaxy Note 5 in the European countries almost after six months of its release in the rest of the world.

Samsung is slated to unveil the upcoming Galaxy S7 series of handsets on Feb. 21, just a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 kicks off. The recent Zauba listing confirmed that the Galaxy S7 will sport a 5.1-inch display, whereas the S7 Edge with a curved-edge will feature a 5.5-inch screen.
