Google has released a number of Android update with the 5.1 the latest of the series. According to recent information, companies like Samsung, HTC and LG may soon have access to the firmware. The companies have reportedly been working on their own version of the Android 5.1 softwar to rollout in varying schedules.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have been in the spotlight lately as more reviews pour in. Apart from the market reception, both devices have made the news as Samsung reportedly started working on the Android 5.0 and Android 5.1 update for both units. An inside from SamMobile hinted that the Korean tech giant has started working on the Android 5.1 firmware for Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and even Galaxy Grand Prime. Likewise, the website also noted that it can confirm the Android 5.0 under development as well. The Galaxy Mega 2 may soon be in line for the update according to the website. Galaxy Note 2, however, still does not have an Android 5.0 Lollipop build.

As for the HTC One M8 Android 5.1, the company's vice president of product management Mo Versi tweeted confirmation of the upcoming software. According to the executive's post:

CNET also reported that a Google spokeswoman confirmed the rollout of the Android 5.1 software to the HTC One M7 and the HTC One M8. The schedule may differ depending on the network provider and location of users. Owners are advised to stay tuned. LG G3 users who cannot wait for the official rollout to their carriers and regions can choose to flash their devices with a custom ROM from the XDA Developer team.
