The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has reportedly been rated as the “Best New Handset, Tablet or Device” by the reputable GSM Association at the MWC 2015 event in Barcelona. Apparently, this award is given to the best new device unveiled during the event, every year.

At the MWC 2014 event, the Samsung Gear Fit was reportedly rated as the best new device by the same group. It is worth noting that, Samsung has dropped the design philosophy of plastic-looking Galaxy S series of handsets for a more refined metallic look with the new Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. Speaking of design, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge undoubtedly stands out with its three-sided curved-edge display. The new device is a concoction of best craftsmanship, bundled with brilliant performance, usability and functionality with the help of cutting-edge technology, notes the tech giant’s official blog Samsung Tomorrow.

JK Shin, president and head of IT and Mobile Communications Unit at Samsung says, “With the Galaxy S6 Edge, we sought to blend technology and design in a way the world has never seen before.” “We are honoured that the GSMA agree that these are our most elegant and powerful devices so far,” he added further.

To top it off, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has reportedly amassed 20+ esteemed awards during various occasions at the MWC 2015 event. This includes the prestigious Ubergizmo’s “Best of Mobile World Congress” award, in addition to Mashable’s “Top Pick” and Laptop Magazine’s “Top Pick” awards.

On the other hand, Samsung’s mobile security platform dubbed KNOX has also received the esteemed “Best Security/Anti-fraud Product of Solution” award from the GSM Association. Notably, KNOX platform has received government recognitions across the globe and this includes the United States Department of Defence, notes the same site.
