Details about the launch and release date of two Samsung flagship phones have been released. The upcoming Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will reportedly be announced in a mid-August event and will be on sale at the market on August 21.

Samsung is ready to take on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6s Plus. Just last year, Apple released it jumbo-sized phone into the market and it dominated the phablet market. Samsung has dominated the jumbo-sized smartphone market since it released Galaxy Note back in 2011. This year, Samsung is releasing its phablet along with a new member to the S6 family, the S6 Edge Plus.

It was reported last June that the Galaxy Note 5 release date will be pushed to August, to gain a head start from the supposed September release of the iPhone 6 Plus. The specs for both the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus recently leaked, and now, official launch and release dates have emerged as well, according to a new report.

Samsung fan site SamMobile said that its trusted source has revealed that the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be announced at a press event on August 12. The site claims that both devices will hit the market on August 21.

The Galaxy Note 5 will look like a bigger version of the Galaxy S6. It will also retain some features of the S6 like the extremely thin screen bezels and will also sport a redesigned S Pen. The new S Pen is rumored to look and feel more like a regular pen, and the color will match the Note 5, which will come in black, white, silver and gold.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be a phablet version of the Edge S6 Plus. It will also be offered in the same colors as the Note 5.
