Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has proved that he is a hands-on father and has no issues getting up many times at night to attend to his kid. Reynolds, who welcomed his daughter James with wife Blake Lively in December last year, says that there is “something beautiful” about being a dad.

“Not unlike most people there is something of a relief to it, that you’re not the centre of your own universe anymore and there’s something nice about how trivial all those other little things you used to lay awake at night worrying about become….. and that’s not something I was expecting,” the actor told Marie Claire.

Reynolds had earlier told People that he has no issues getting up even five times at night to change diapers. He is never too exhausted for James. It is also said that the “Deadpool” actor keeps a baby monitor with him to check up on his daughter.

Lively and Reynolds want to give a normal childhood to James. The actor aims to give the same “fun-filled upbringing” to his daughter that he enjoyed during his childhood. Giving insights about his own childhood, the actor said he was “reckless and out of control.” “I didn’t really have the resources and the mindset to deal with the position that I was in,” he added.

The actor has also spoken about the young artists in the industry who aim to make it big at a very tender age. He believes that these artists are mocked and laughed upon very easily but deep inside they deal with something very dangerous. Without naming anyone, he said that these people fall victim and destroy their lives at a very young age.

On the work front, Ryan’s upcoming movie “Mississippi Grind” is slated to be released on Oct. 23.
