The names of characters played by Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” have been revealed in a new report. Mikkelsen had previously teased some information about his character and his relationship to the protagonist Jyn Erso.

[Spoiler alert]

When a fan wanted an autograph from Mikkelsen way back in September, the actor signed “Galen.” This was seen as an indication that Galen is the name of his character in the forthcoming movie. Making Star Wars now confirms that there have been more indications that this is in fact the name of the character in the movie. The name was reportedly used extensively during the filming of the movie last year.

The report points out that the name of Daisy Ridley’s character in “The Force Awakens” was initially Kira. This name was later used only as a code name during filming and her name was changed to Rey. However, the name Galen appears to be the right name for Mikkelsen’s character in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” because the same source has also revealed the name of the villain to be Krennic, played by Ben Mendelsohn.

Another leaked name is that of Whitaker’s character. People at the production set are reportedly calling him “Castro,” which is very similar to Fidel Castro, the President of Cuba. While there is some confirmation about the name of Mikkelsen’s character, it is still not clear whether Castro is the actual name of Whitaker’s character or if it is just a code name.

In a previous interview with Sky News, Mikkelsen had revealed that he will be playing the role of Jyn Erso’s father in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The main plot of the movie revolves around Jyn leading a group of Rebels to steal the plans of Empire’s super weapon named Death Star, which is capable of destroying an entire planet. The villains will be preparing to test the weapon in the movie.
