Amid concerns about “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” heading for reshoots, cast member Mads Mikkelsen played down the problems with the film. The actor said that Disney is loving all the free publicity the movie is getting from the recent reports about it being in trouble.

In an interview with The Independent Mikkelsen confirmed that the reshoots of the movie will last at least two weeks. The actor will be involved with the shooting for just one day in these two weeks. He said that he didn’t remember on which date he has to be on the set.

Talking about the concerns about the movie going into reshoot, the actor said that all movies big or small go through reshoots. “They’re either not super happy with a scene bit, the way we were acting, or maybe there’s something they want to add,” he said. The actor explained that he couldn’t comment on whether the reshoot was big or small, because he has nothing to compare it to.

“It’s the same film, it’s just adding little bits here and there to do the final polishing. That’s my feeling,” Mikkelsen said. The actor also said the Disney is loving all the free publicity “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is getting. There have been a lot of rumours and speculation surrounding the movie, but this may only add to the excitement about the first spin-off of the franchise.

Mikkelsen had previously teased some details about his character in the movie. This time around he decided to play it safe and did not reveal anything. “ I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say without killing you. I play someone in the film, yes. So far, so good,” the actor said.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is slated to be released on Dec. 15 in Australia. The reshoots are not expected to affect the release date of the movie.
