The first spin-off film has a slightly different tone when compared to the traditional movies from the franchise. The film is action packed, and cast member Diego Luna recently told Vanity Fair that he got a lot of injuries while filming his scenes and some of those accidents will be seen in the film.

The main plot of the movies of the franchise has always been about a journey of a young character and his road to self discovery and learning about his/her destiny. But, the protagonist in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) knows her background and her only task is to steal the plans of the Death Star.

Jyn was not seen or mentioned in “A New Hope” or in the other movies that are set in a timeline after the events of the next film. This suggests that the character will not play a role in the major events in the galaxy that come later.

To further set “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” apart from the main saga, the film will not have an opening crawl that has been a part of all the movies released by the franchise so far, Star Wars News Net reports. A lot is riding on the first spin-off film, as Disney has plans for multiple Anthology films based on different characters.
