Charlie Sheen may have clearly rooted for his ‘old friend’, Rob Lowe over his other favorite John Stamos to replace him at “Two and a Half Men”, but it looks like Lowe will be out of the candidates’ list.

But a day after Charlie played ‘casting director’ for endorsing Rob Lowe as Charlie Harper, NBC producers issued a statement shooting down hopes that Lowe could come on board to do Sheen’s job on “Men”.

According to the Washington Post, NBC producer, Michael Schur said while attending the Paley Center’s annual TV Festival in Los Angeles Thursday that Lowe may not be jumping ship anytime soon because the “Parks and Recreation” star is tied on a ‘multi-year contract” with CBS rival, NBC.

Schur also belied rumors that Lowe remains their man and will not be the next Charlie Harper.

“The Internet lit a match and set itself on fire,” Schur was quoted as saying by the PEOPLE.com.

Lowe and Stamos are two of Charlie Sheen’s top favorite among the actors rumored to replace him in America’s hit TV series.
