“Rainbow Six: Siege” is gearing up to be a good team-based tactical shooter. Based on the trailers, the game will utilise the technology behind current consoles with high-end graphics and physics. Recent reports claim that the game will be massive as it launches on Dec. 1.

In a statement released to PCGamer, developer Ubisoft announced that the game will be launching with a total of 11 maps, instead of the rumoured 10. Aside from that, all maps can be playable at both day and night cycles. Ubisoft also said that post-launch maps will be available as free downloadable content, or DLC.

“At launch, Rainbow Six Siege will have 11 maps, playable both day or night, all using the full potential of our Real Blast destruction technology. In addition, all post-launch maps will be downloadable for free. We want players to stay with us for the long term and have ambitious post-launch plans that we will detail at a later stage,” a Ubisoft representative said in an email to PCGamer.

Level designer Benoit Deschamps initially had an ambitious idea of 50 levels for“Rainbow Six: Siege,” but he later on lessened the count to 10. In an interview with PCGamer, Deschamps said that there will be a total of 10 maps on launch, with more to come afterward. Both Deschamps and Ubisoft has released a statement regarding the minor mix-up in map count.

The beta for “Rainbow Six: Siege” will launch on Sept. 24, so players can get a hands-on of the game prior to its release. According to Hardcore Gamer, the game will rely a lot on teamwork and cooperation.

Upon beginning the game, players will have to choose from a set of classes, each with different weapons and abilities. One of the teams will have to defend themselves inside a secured area, while the other team will have to plan an assault against the defending opponents.
